Semester ticket

Deutschlandsemesterticket! Juhu!

Starting October 1, 2024, we’ll have the digital Deutschlandsemesterticket.

This means you can use the new digital ticket for the same routes as the Deutschlandticket—so, local transport like buses, regional trains, and trams. From now on, you’ll just need to show your QR code on your smartphone.

How do you get the QR code? Follow the link here or scan the QR code.

For this, you will need your date of birth and your student ID number. You will then have the ticket directly on the web, or you can, for example, add it to your wallet. Attention! The ticket will only be displayed from 01.10.2024, so don’t worry if you don’t see it yet.

You won’t need an additional Deutschland Ticket anymore. If you’ve already booked an upgrade Deutschlandticket for €17.30, you should cancel it now.

For those who can’t show a QR code, there will be a limited number of chip cards available. You can apply for these starting September 18, 2024, at Dezernat 1 with this application. Please be fair—there’s a limited number, and anything beyond that will be chargeable.

Important: From October 1, 2024, your student ID will no longer be valid as a travel pass!

Since it’s a Deutschland Semester Ticket, the same travel rules apply as with the Deutschland Ticket. More info can be found at: www.dein-semesterticket.de

If you have any questions, just send an email to asta-landespolitik@hfk-bremen.de

General exemption from the semester ticket

In some cases, you can be exempt from receiving the semester ticket; all exemptions must be supported by appropriate certificates. The exceptions are:

  • severe disability according to § 145 Abs. 1 SGB IX with a right to free transportation
  • Voluntary stay for study purposes for more than 120 consecutive calendar days of the respective semester outside the spatial area of validity of the statewide semester ticket, e.g. for an internship, for studying abroad or for a doctorate
  • Vacation semester
  • Compulsory (curricular) internship and/or semester abroad
  • Exmatriculation

All of these cases are handled by Department 1 / Student Services Office. If any of these apply to you, please contact them: dezernat1@hfk-bremen.de

We know that there are many students who do not currently need their ticket due to their social/financial situation, but still have to buy it. The semester ticket is a solidarity ticket, it can only be offered at this price because it is obligatory for over 40,000 students in Bremen, Bremerhaven, Oldenburg etc. We kindly ask for your understanding that we are subject to contracts and have to follow certain rules.

Refund in case of exmatriculation

As a result of an exmatriculation during the semester, the semester ticket can be refunded proportionately. For this you need a certified copy of the certificate of exmatriculation from the Office for Students (Dezernat 1) of the HfK Bremen. The procedure is also carried out by the Dezernat 1.
